Wales GI Conference

Wales GI Conference

AGI Cymru will be hosting its annual conference for 2008 'Wales - New challenges, new opportunities' at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff on 20th November 2008.

The conference will maintain its traditional mix of keynote speakers, breakout sessions and exhibition. The morning will kick off with an update on the progress of the Welsh GI strategy update from the Chair of AGI Cymru followed by morning keynotes on the challenges which the industry faces with the implementation of the INSPIRE initiative, and its response to both the Marine Bill and the Pitt Enquiry into the 2007 floods in England.

The four breakout sessions separated by lunch will then take forward the data sharing agenda, help attendees understand the implications and potential of geographic information in a mobile context, share the latest approaches to the water aspects of the industry both on and off shore and examine how the industry is meeting the monitoring and prediction needs of responding to global climate change.

Environment Systems will once again be exhibiting at the conference and look forward to seeing you there.  Don’t forget that by attending you can earn Continuing Professional Development points for the Chartered Geographer Scheme!
