Species Recording System Launch

SPOT - Species Location Recording for Wales will be launched by Glyn Davies AM, Chairman of the Environment, Planning and Countryside Committee.

Wednesday 26th July 2pm at the Royal Welsh Show.

SPOT has been launched through a partnership between Environment Systems, Eryr, Wildlife Trusts Wales and Countryside Council for Wales.

The Welsh natural environment is of great significance to the people of Wales. To enhance, monitor and conserve our environment it is vital to understand the location of key species.

Environment Systems Director Steve Keyworth says; "Our technologies can allow others with an interest in the wildlife of Wales to pool resources and share knowledge, which in turn increases understanding. This increase in awareness of our natural environment is a key aim for both Environment Systems and Eryr."

"We recognised the opportunity to develop SPOT, a flexible, easy to use, web based, species location recording system for Wales. Working in partnership with the Wildlife Trusts Wales and Countryside Council for Wales, the companies are delighted to have contributed resources to this important project." Steve continued.
