Environment Systems was commissioned by the Countryside Council for Wales (CCW) and Powys County Council to examine the opportunities for outdoor recreation and enjoyment of the countryside in the Severn Valley. The work was part of a larger partnership project, the Severn Valley Recreation Opportunities Pilot.
“The study team identified and catalogued existing recreation provision, identified opportunities for new provision and provided an analysis of how the general public access recreation in the area currently. Suggestions were made in the light of this on how facilities could be developed to enhance recreational opportunities for visitors, locals and those that currently make little use of the outdoors” says Katie Medcalf, Severn Valley project manager.
