PhD Research Funding

Environment Systems, working with the University of Wales Aberystwyth Institute of Biological Sciences, will be supervising a new three year PhD starting in November this year.

Three years of PhD research funding has been secured through the Objective 1 European Social Fund (ESF) PhD programme.

The study will be looking at the effect of micro-topography on soil and vegetation biodiversity, in particular looking to build on top of field scale work using remotely sensed sources of information.

Dr. Katie Medcalf, Environment Systems Principal Consultant, will be the company supervisor; "I am very excited by the three year research programme. This work will provide us with the opportunity to develop innovative research that is ultimately targeted at providing a better understanding of biodiversity. This can only help policy development and monitoring."

Further information on the PhD will be posted during the course of the research.
