3D Biodiversity Networks PhD

Environment Systems is delighted to announce a new PhD position, jointly funded by the company, in association with the University of Wales Aberystwyth and Welsh European Funding Office. The researcher appointed is Johanna Breyer, a recent graduate of the Institute of Biological Sciences, University of Wales Aberystwyth.

The project will look at using a range of airborne and spaceborne remote sensing data to analysis the structure, biomass and floristic composition of vegetation in Wales in 3D.

Output products will include tools for interpreting key components of the Welsh landscape that can be used to support:

  • climate change research
  • assessments of biodiversity
  • policy decisions

Environment Systems is excited to welcome Johanna into the Environment Systems team and to supporting her on the research over the next three years.
